If you are new to the UGA MAcc program - WELCOME! I look forward to working with you from acceptance through your graduate course work, job search, CPA exam preparation and graduation. It is my pleasure to serve as your MAcc advisor!
Email is by far the best way to reach me with questions or to set up a face-to-face meeting (lclark@uga.edu). I promise to respond to you as quickly as possible!
Once accepted into the MAcc Program, students answer questions about their intended plans for graduation, internships, etc. A tentative Plan of Study is provided, mapping the candidate's entire course work and requirements until graduation, as graduate courses are generally offered only once per year.
Advising is available each semester, prior to the pre-registration period date determined by the UGA Registrar’s Office. For currently enrolled MAcc students, an email is sent about 6 weeks into the semester with dates for future advising appointments. Appointments are scheduled via the UGA Student Advising & Registration Assistant (SARA) system.
Only currently enrolled MAcc students have access to the SARA system, as you must have a UGA MyID to access the system. Newly admitted students should contact the advisor for an appointment.
A list of the current MAcc and MBA course offerings is sent to students to review for the upcoming semester(s). MBA electives may be restricted and require special permission. Details of how to attain permission are included in the course offering information.
Students may earn a maximum of three hours graduate internship credit (ACCT 7800) to count towards the MAcc degree. Permission to enroll in ACCT 7800 is required prior to registration for the class. Your advisor will need to know with whom you are interning to give you permission. In order to earn internship credit, students must be enrolled in ACCT 7800 in the same semester they are interning. This course is not available to MAcc students in the semester immediately prior to graduation from the program.
