If you are new to the UGA MAcc program - WELCOME! I look forward to working with you from acceptance through your graduate coursework, job search, CPA exam preparation and graduation. It is my pleasure to serve as your MAcc advisor!
Email is by far the best way to reach me with questions or to set up a face-to-face meeting (firstname.lastname@example.org). I promise to respond to you as quickly as possible!
Once accepted into the MAcc Program, you will answer questions about your intended plans for graduation, internships, etc. Based on your answers, I will provide a tentative Plan of Study, mapping your entire coursework and requirements until graduation, as graduate courses are generally offered only once per year.
Advising is available each semester, prior to the pre-registration period date determined by the UGA Registrar’s Office. Even though you are not required to see me in person for advising, I hope that you will! It's a great time for us to discuss not only your classes, but the CPA exam, your employment plans and any other issues you wish. I send an email to currently enrolled MAcc students about 6 weeks into the semester with dates for future advising appointments. Appointments are scheduled via the UGA Student Advising & Registration Assistant (SARA) system. If you are new to the MAcc program and have trouble accessing SARA, please let me know.
A list of the current MAcc and MBA course offerings is sent to students to review for the upcoming semester(s) prior to the the start of early registration. MBA electives may be restricted and require special permission. Details of how to attain permission are included in the course offering information.
It is my goal to provide you with a very positive experience as your MAcc advisor. The time you spend in our program will undoubtedly go by quickly - but I want it to be one that you look back on with long-lasting fondness. I look forward to working with you. And GO DAWGS!
All the best!
