Career Resources

As a UGA MAcc student, many career resources are available to you. Currently, our placement rate for MAcc graduates is 99%. It is our goal to make sure you find an excellent employment fit for your skills and knowledge, both of which will be in high demand when you earn your MAcc degree from The Univeristy of Georgia!

Fall is the busiest recruiting season for public accounting. Each fall semester we host an Accounting Career Fair reserved for all UGA accounting students, undergraduate and graduate. Over 45 firms/companies have representatives in attendance each year to meet with our accounting students who seek internships and/or full-time positions. It's a great opportunity to network, make connections and jump-start your search. For details, see our Accounting Career Fair web page.

To help you prepare for the Accounting Career Fair, we publish an annual Recruiting Handbook for UGA accounting students. It contains a wealth of helpful information, including interview advice, dress code details, and contact information for hundreds of companies and firms. The Handbook is available at the beginning of each fall semester. To access the 2013-14 Recruiting Handbook, click here.

We assemble a Resume Book each fall for recruiters, so they can prepare for the Accounting Career Fair, too. All accounting students who seek an internship or full-time position in the coming academic year are encouraged to submit a one-page resume for inclusion in the book, which is distributed to potential employers prior to the beginning of each fall semester.

The University of Georgia Career Center is an excellent resource for all UGA students seeking internships or full-time positions. As a UGA accounting student, you are fortunate to have Ms. Michelle Carter as your career consultant, an expert for placements in the field of accounting. Please contact her as soon as possible each recruiting season for resume critiques, mock interviews or any other assistance with your search. She can be reached at 706.542.3375 or

The UGA MAcc program has a consistently high first-time CPA Exam pass rate. We do not offer a CPA Exam review course for credit, but students are encouraged to select a review program from the many available, in person or on-line. The CPA process is two-part: 1) exam and 2) licensing. For details specific to Georgia, please click here.
